FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked before someone starts configuring their advisory setup — answered with the same directness we'd bring to a call.

What exactly is a configuration-first approach?

Configuration-first means we build your business setup around sharp definitions and structured parameters rather than bespoke templates. That keeps your facts, compliance rules and client data organised from day one.

Do you work with firms of any size?

Yes. We've configured setups for one-person consultancies and for practices with several directors. The scalablesets are intentionally modular, so they can be reconfigured as your advisory roles or staffing levels change.

Why is this better than an off-the-shelf template?

Off-the-shelf templates are free but generic and rigid. Configuration-first is far more aligned with how an FIR-bound advisor works: definitions are under your control, and any future changes can be applied consistently without rework.

Are your systems suitable for SRA-regulated firms?

They are operationally well-documented and we configure them against your own policies and compliance duties. Those controls remain your responsibility, which is exactly how they should be — we aren't a golden box.

What will the first phase generate?

We agree the map of your advisory work, then within 2–3 days you get a structured framework document: your facts, deadlines, risk/conflict checks and reporting rhythm, all spelled out in a working engine.

Can you take existing data without disruption?

We bring current folders and client history through via a clean transfer protocol. The calendar and compliance prompts only getsigned off once we have sight of everything, so retirement decisions aren't skipped mid-process.
